Magdalena Mare is an international artist currently based in Germany. She lived in numerous places across Europe and United States. Movement and change are key elements of her life and have become the basic inspiration to venture into her art.

Her experiences throughout the last decades have shaped her perception of the world around her and her self, and have thus become the driver to express herself in her artwork.

      Primarily working in oil on canvas — with forays into pencil and watercolor — Magdalena’s paintings explore the protean nature of humanity through abstracted floral forms. She envisions humans as flowers: delicate, bright and unique. With scientific detail but a colorful and expressive style, she imposes upon them the fate of circumstance and choice. This synthesis touches on how varied experiences are reforming our realities and can possibly contribute to the deformation and degradation of our persona. The result are florals that are simultaneously withered and seething with life.
